Modder delivers 50% performance gains by adding DLSS 3 to Red Dead Redemption 2
Nvidia’s DLSS Frame Generation tech has been modded into Red Dead Redemption 2, delivering huge performance gains
Game modder “PureDark” has created a new DLSS 3 mod for Red Dead Redemption 2, and has shared a video show showcases the performance gains the mod can deliver on their RTX 4070 Ti graphics card. This mod adds DLSS Frame Generation to the game, and using DLSSTweaks the modder has also been able to utilise DLAA within the game.Â
Red Dead Redemption 2 supports Nvidia’s DLSS 2 technology, enabling DLSS Super Resolution (DLSS Upscaling) within the game. Now with PureDark’s DLSS 3 mod, the game now supports DLSS Frame Generation, delivering a significant performance boost within the game.Â
The video below showcases Red Dead Redemption 2 with DLSS Frame Generation enabled and disabled (with DLAA), showcasing performance gains of around 50% in most instances. These are huge performance gains, but not as high as what DLSS has been able to deliver in other games that PureDark has released DLSS Frame Generation mods for.Â
PureDark has previously released DLSS 3 mods for The Last of Us Part 1, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Elden Ring, and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Sadly, all of these mods are only available to supporters of PureDark’s Patreon, and it is unknown if any of these mods will ever be made available for free to PC gamers.Â
PureDark has not released their DLSS 3 mod for Red Dead Redemption II at the time of writing. This mod is expected to be made available to supporters of PureDark’s Patreon soon through Discord.Â
