RTX Hair is coming to Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

Next-gen TessFX/HairWorks? Nvidia’s RTX Hair tech is coming to Indiana Jones

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is the latest game to showcase the visual benefits of “Full Ray Tracing,” and soon, the game will look better than ever on PC. No, we aren’t talking about Nvidia’s DLSS 4 tech and its new AI models; we are talking about the addition of “RTX Hair” to the game.

Hair rendering has always been an important part of gaming visuals. We have come a long way since hair was a simple block of polygons. It wasn’t long ago that technologies like TressFX and HairWorks were praised for their high-quality hair rendering. Now, Nvidia is taking hair to the next level with “RTX Hair.”

Nvidia’s GeForce Evangelist, Jacob Freeman, has given us a glimpse of this new hair-rendering technology. It uses Linear-Swept Spheres and reportedly delivers improved performance, higher image quality, and lower VRAM usage than Indiana Jones’ existing hair rendering solution. With more performance and higher image quality, this tech is a win-win for users.

Thanks to the release of DLSS 4, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will soon receive a further image quality boost. With DLSS 4’s new transformer-based AI models, users can expect higher levels of image quality on all GeForce RTX GPUs. Yes, Nvidia’s improved RTX technologies aren’t exclusive to the company’s new RTX 50 series GPUs.

Thanks to Nvidia’s new models, users can expect less ghosting, higher levels of image stability, and smoother edges than before. That’s great news for all RTX users, even those with older RTX graphics cards.
