Ubisoft’s Beyond Good & Evil Remaster contains impressive graphical upgrades

Ubisoft’s Beyond Good & Evil Remaster looks a lot better than expected on PC and consoles

If I’m honest, I didn’t expect much from Ubisoft’s Beyond Good & Evil Remaster. I expected Ubisoft to increase its resolution and framerate and call it a day. What we have here is what I will terms as a “loving remaster”, where the game has received a larger and more fundamental overhaul.

While the game retains much of its original look, it is clear that the game’s models and textures have been greatly improved. Textures are sharper, models are more detailed, and characters have received a lot of attention. It’s clear that Ubisoft and Virtuos Studios have put a lot of effort into this remake.

Other graphical additions include ambient occlusion, which make this game feel a lot less flat than before. Lighting has also been improved, with more objects casting shadows.

Below is a video from ElAnalistaDeBits showcasing the visual changes that Ubisoft’s Remake provides.

On PC, this remaster is now available on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and Ubisoft Connect. The game is also available through the Ubisoft+ subscription service. Limited Run Games will be releasing a physical version of this remaster after launch, which will be available to pre-order sometime next month.
