Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2’s newest update adds new content, an FOV slider, and more

Space Marine 2 now has an FOV slider on PC

Saber Interactive has just released update 6.0 for Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2. This update is called “Datavault”, and it adds new content to the game, a new difficulty option, and (finally) bings an FOV slider to Space Marine 2’s PC version.

On the game’s Battle Barge, a new area has been opened up. This area is the “Datavault”. Players can challenge themselves with “Ordeals” in the game’s Campaign, Operation, and Eternal War modes to earn “Research Data” currency. This currency can be used to unlock rewards.

In PVP mode, a new map called “Tomb” is now available. Overall, Tomb is the smallest PVP map available, making it ideal for close-quarters combat.

In PVE modes, a new “Absolute” difficulty mode has been added, giving veteran players their toughest challenge yet. A new Extremis enemy has also been added to the game, the Tyranid Biovore, a living artillery creature.

PC gamers will finally be able to adjust Space Marine 2’s field of view (FOV). Below, we can see this new FOV setting in action. PC gamers can now enjoy a more personalised Space Marine 2 experience. Note that this change may have a notable performance impact, on some systems, as wider FOVs will make more objects visible on-screen.

Note that update 6.0 also brings new Season Pass content to Space Marine 2. This includes the Raven Guard Cosmetic Pack and the Salamanders Champion Pack.
