Evil Dead: The Game has been removed from sale on PC and consoles

Saber Interactive won’t say why Evil Dead: The Game is no longer available

Three years after launch, Saber Interactive’s Evil Dead: The Game has been removed from sale on PC and consoles. As of now, the game is no longer available to buy on the Epic Games Store or Steam.

Evil Dead: The Game is a co-op/PVP multiplayer action game, where up to four survivors can team up to fight the forces of evil. Alternatively, a player can take control of the Kandarian Demon and hunt other players.

Saber Interactive, the game’s developer, has confirmed that the game’s removal was intentional. However, the company has not stated why the game is no longer available. While the game’s servers will remain online for the foreseeable future, there appears to be no plan to return the game to Steam and other storefronts.

An update regarding Evil Dead: The Game

We can confirm we’ve begun the process of removing the game from digital storefronts. Anyone who has purchased the game will still be able to play it as we plan to keep our servers online for everyone.

We want to extend a sincere thank you to our community, to those who have been part of the game from the very beginning, and those who have recently joined us. We appreciate all of your support.

So why was the game removed? Right now, we can only speculate. It is probable that some kind of licensing agreement has expired. That said, three years is an incredibly small amount of time for a gaming license. Even so, this wouldn’t be the first time that a licensing agreement removed a good game from sale. If you want to pick up this game, codes may still be available through Steam key retailers.
