ASUS software reputation is hardly glowing, so it’s good that the Armoury Crate Gear setup for the ROG Pelta is responsive, well-laid out, and clear.

If you want to adjust the, excellent, default sound scheme then there are plenty of pre-configured options. Should you desire even finer control that’s available from the equaliser. It’s easy to quickly grab a setup that suits your taste.

The microphone is well designed and easy to position. Combine that with the foam cover and it needs very little tweaking to help it perform at its best.

We’re not sure if there is anything you’d need to change here. Perhaps if you’ve also got a dedicated microphone you might.

The Pelta might not have the complete suite of ROG lighting options, and isn’t built into the AURA Sync system, but you’ve enough to let your freak flag fly. By which we mean personal colour preference.

There is nothing worse than the fugue state that comes from not knowing if you’re about to be plunged into silence. Fortunately the ASUS ROG Pelta has both an easily visible battery gauge as well as adjustable options for the female voice warning.

Although it’s hardly the most exciting screen, for those who want a quick way of discovering what firmware version they have, the ROG Pelta has you covered.
