Available in two colours, black and navy, our review sample comes in navy. As you’ll see in a moment, it’s a lot less blue than you might expect.
It might be the default style for a while now, but we still appreciate a dual Type-C cable for simplicity of connection. Kudos to MSI for giving us a braided one too.
Speaking of braided cables and connectivity, the Maestro 500 even provides us with a 3.5mm option. Perfect if you want to plug your XBOX/PS5 pad or Switch in. We love the amount of options MSI are supplying to us.
For the majority of people wireless will be the way to go. Cables are just so annoying, especially when cases are designed to be on our right but headsets have the cable on the left, so it drapes across your chest.
Should you be the type of person who hates having their microphone dangling about, the Maestro 500 comes with a clean method of keeping it out of the way. This is especially good if you have fear of being unmuted. With the arm up and auto-mute, there is never going to be a danger of you revealing secrets to your teammates. Or mouthing off your boss mid-meeting.
40mm drivers sit in the midrange of price and performance. Big enough to give you quality bass and a broad sonic palette, without taking up your head.
The hinges on the Maestro allow you to swivel the earcups in, helping keep a smaller footprint and so take up less room in your bag. Or on your desk.
As is traditional with wireless headphones, all the controls are on the left ear cup. From volume and muting, to a place to attach the relevant dongles.
