The Roccat packaging has always had an attractive simplicity to it and the Khan Pro is no exception. Large product image. Clearly highlighted features. Simple logo. Bosh, done.

The Khan Pro continues Roccat’s excellent design with bold logos on the outside of the ear pieces and hinges that are fully flexible to ensure maximum comfort. The cable is long and there is an included two-into-one combiner to ensure maximum compatibility. The microphone is rigid but that should at least ensure that anyone using it wont be shouting into your ears like most people we come across in our online gaming exploits, whilst you can yell at them without fearing your voice clipping out.

The ear coverings give away the price point of the Khan Pro, being that thin pleather style that nearly always wears out in a hurry. We’d much rather Roccat have gone with foam coverings for this very reason, or bumped the price up by a tenner and gone full leather. However there is plenty of room for even the largest ears, so if you happen to be a friend of Noddy then you’ll be okay.

Rather than go down the common route of having an inline remote to control the volume and microphone muting, the Khan Pro mutes the microphone when you lift it to the vertical position, allowing Roccat to move the volume dial to the side of the headset. It’s easily accessible and not having a remote in the cable helps neaten things up. No matter where companies put the remote it’s always either too near your head or somewhere by your thighs.

Although the primary material for the Khan Pro is plastic to help keep the weight down, the hinges are sturdy and the headband is flexible steel. This should ensure that, whilst the headset is light, that lightness isn’t a quality compromise.
