Controller and Setup

The box should be extremely familiar to anyone who has seen the Steelseries Siberia 840 as it’s identical to the model that came with that particular headset. On the front is a back button and the main dial which also has a selector button inside it.

Around the right hand side is the port for charging the battery. It’s a big aperture so even those with fingers like sausages will be able to get the battery out without issue. It also helps for slamming the dead one in there during a particularly tense firefight.

Around the back we have the umpteen connection options for the attendant cables. We have to say it’s pretty insane that even at £300 we’re stuck without a DC adaptor in the box. Okay it takes all its power from the USB port whether you’re on PC or PS4, but to have a DC port and not put one in the box is crazy.

Lastly a brief overview of the many screens and submenus on the Arctis Pro controller. There are also chatmix and equaliser functions. The equaliser comes with a few presets for the most common options, but you can custom create one if you’re particularly averse to certain frequencies. You’re up and running really quickly because Steelseries have paired the headset with the base unit prior to shipping. In use you have two battery indicators so you can tell at a glance if the one in the headset is getting critical, although you’d have to be particularly forgetful to ever run out entirely. Just swap the batteries between headset and charging and you’ll never go flat.
