be quiet Dark Rock 6 and Dark Rock 6 Pro CPU cooler Review

Up Close with the Dark Rock 6

Meet the be quiet Dark Rock 6

The Dark Rock 6 is the smaller of the two coolers that we will be testing today. This cooler succeeds both the Dark Rock 5 and the Dark Rock Slim, featuring a single 135mm fan, a single heatsink tower and six heatpipes.

As mentioned before, this cooler has a P/Q switch that enables its semi-passive mode. When Q is enabled, this cooler’s fan will stop spinning when PWM signals under 40% are sent. This makes this cooler completely silent under low loads.

Overall, this cooler has an elegant design that would look great inside any PC. Note that this cooler’s base is nickel-plated, making it compatible with liquid metal thermal compounds.

Note that the contact plate on this CPU cooler features fins, a nice touch that adds a little more cooling potential. It’s a small feature, but a nice touch nonetheless.
