Bigger and Better! Cooler Master Qube 540 PC Case Review
Conclusion and Video Review
A solid case at an incredibly low price
While its appearance may not be for everyone, the QUBE 540 is a well-designed PC enclosure. With its movable feet and handles, users can place the case on its side, invert it, or turn its front into its bottom. This case is versatility incarnate, and that’s just the outside.
Inside, users can move their PSU, move their I/O ports to one of sixteen locations, and even add a vertical GPU mount. That’s all without any extra hardware. With the right hardware, this case can support a 360mm CPU liquid-cooling solution and GPUs up to 415mm long.
Compared with the QUBE 500, this case is larger and more affordable. It loses the perks of its predecessor’s flat-packed design (which made custom painting and powder coating specific panels easy), but its increased size and affordability make it more attractive to many purchasers.
With the QUBE 540, Cooler Master has fully embraced modding by releasing full STEP files for the case (alongside some starter parts). This has opened the door to a huge suite of custom upgrades, allowing users to make their PC cases truly unique.
For £65, this case is a bargain. If you are willing to customise it, this case is a gem. If you own a 3D printer, or know someone who does, this case is truly special. This case isn’t let down by airflow like its predecessor, and at this price point, it has no real competitors.
Overall, this is a great case that offers great value. Add on its customisability, and we have a case that moves from great value to simply being great. With a modder’s mindset, PC builders can create awesome systems with this case.
