Corsair Carbide Spec 04 Review
Up Close: Â Exterior
Along with the red version we have for review, the Spec-04 is available with both Grey and Yellow trim. Measuring 433x201x492mm (HXWXD), it’s about average size for a mid-tower. Â We’ve already said that the case is very light, at just 4.2kg, and if we’re honest we we a little worried about it’s structural integrity. Â We are though pleased to confirm that all is well in that department. Â As you can see the case has a full size acrylic window, as well as good ventilation to the front and to the roof.
Â
The right hand side of the case has a panel which is bulged in a similar way to the window side panel. Â This, as we’re sure you know is a technique used to improve the rigidity of a panel that might otherwise be too flimsy.
Â
The right side of the case also houses the front I/O, which although pretty basic should have everything you need.
Â
The front of the case is very angular with approximately half given over to venting. Â If the Red trim isn’t too your liking there’s always Yellow, or a more subtle Grey colour available.
Â
The roof of the case has mounts for a pair of 120mm fans. Â The holes are not slotted, and Corsair do not quote Radiator compatibility up here.Â
Â
The rear of the case is standard ATX stuff. Â It is though nice to see that the seven vented PCI slot covers are reusable as opposed to the punch out type sometimes seen on cheaper cases.Â
Â
The case stands on four rubber capped feet, with a slide out dust filter at the rear protecting the PSU intake area.Â
