Corsair Carbide Spec 04 Review

Corsair Carbide Spec 04 Review

Up Close:  Exterior

Along with the red version we have for review, the Spec-04 is available with both Grey and Yellow trim. Measuring 433x201x492mm (HXWXD), it’s about average size for a mid-tower.  We’ve already said that the case is very light, at just 4.2kg, and if we’re honest we we a little worried about it’s structural integrity.  We are though pleased to confirm that all is well in that department.  As you can see the case has a full size acrylic window, as well as good ventilation to the front and to the roof.

The right hand side of the case has a panel which is bulged in a similar way to the window side panel.  This, as we’re sure you know is a technique used to improve the rigidity of a panel that might otherwise be too flimsy.

The right side of the case also houses the front I/O, which although pretty basic should have everything you need.

The front of the case is very angular with approximately half given over to venting.  If the Red trim isn’t too your liking there’s always Yellow, or a more subtle Grey colour available.

The roof of the case has mounts for a pair of 120mm fans.  The holes are not slotted, and Corsair do not quote Radiator compatibility up here.

The rear of the case is standard ATX stuff.  It is though nice to see that the seven vented PCI slot covers are reusable as opposed to the punch out type sometimes seen on cheaper cases.

The case stands on four rubber capped feet, with a slide out dust filter at the rear protecting the PSU intake area.
