Up Close:  Interior

Keeping in mind that this is a sub £50 case, we’re not surprised to see that there aren’t any rubber grommets on the otherwise plentiful management holes.

The Spec-04 comes with a single 120mm fan, but is able to accept up to a pair of 120s or 140s.  To our eyes though, there appear to be mounting holes for up to three 120mm fans.  Down at the bottom there’s a rack for up to 3×3.5″ drives.  The case also has storage for a pair of 2.5″ drives.

With the drive cage removed we can see that the front of the case suddenly becomes quite a spacious area.

The Spec-04 will take PSUs up to 225mm in length, and although not luxurious accommodation, it does have foam pads for the PSU to sit on.

The first thing we noticed about the rear of the case is that it doesn’t come with a fitted 120mm fan.  OK, so it’s a sub £50 case, so maybe this is ok, but we were actually expecting to see one there.

The roof of the case has a decent off-set to allow for the fitting of 2x120mm fans.  Again, Corsair do not quote water cooling compatibility up here, but we have a suspicion you might be able to squeeze a rad in there if the stand off is big enough…We’ll have to see won’t we.

The rear of the motherboard area is quite standard with a few cable tie points, and mounts for 2×2.5″ drives.

There is though very little cable management room.  The majority of the case has just 9mm.

Towards the front of the case this figure rises to 14mm, but it’s still going to be awfully tight back here.
