Thankfully AMD always ensure that their current socket lasts for a massive amount of time, and with the MSI MEG X670E Ace we have a high end motherboard with a speedily updated BIOS. All of which means that we can plug our Ryzen 9000 series processors into the AM5 socket of the MSI MEG Ace and still get accurate results. Otherwise our test setup will be very familiar to our regular visitors.
Clock Speeds and Voltages
We’ve got a whole range of different setups today. Not all of them used for every test for sheer time reasons. However, we’ve got 6000Mhz and 8000MHz DDR5 on both the Ryzen 5 9600X and Ryzen 7 9700X setups. Occasionally we’re going to dip our toe into automatic overclocking, as well as the ever popular Precision Boost Overdrive. As these two are in the middle of the new AMD Ryzen 9000 series of processors we’re not expecting any immediate rushes to the top of our graphs, so concentrate more on any gains over the stock results. Priced at just £340 for the 9700X and £270 for the 9600X, we think that makes perfect sense and could offer some amazing value options to anyone building on a budget.
