As an mATX motherboard the packaging for the TUF Gaming B560M-Plus is smaller than you might expect. Compact and bijou is the name of the game.

Inside you get all you need and nothing unexpected given the extremely low price tag of the B560M-Plus TUF. The newest version of the ASUS WiFi Antenna, SATA cables as always and a manual and sticker set.

The aesthetics of the TUF look a lot like all the other recent TUF models we’ve reviewed. A combination of black PCB, grey accents and simple but effective VRM heatsinks. Given that the early PCIe 4.0 motherboards had big, active, chipset coolers we’re curious as to how the very old-fashioned B560 chipset heatsink handles the blazing bandwidth of the newest bus. In the centre is the main event, the PCIe 4.0 M.2 that brings speedy transfer rates to you if you have a suitable drive.

At the top left we have a single 8pin CPU 12V ATX power input. On a compact board it’s the most difficult connector to install, so hopefully you haven’t got fingers like a pack of bratwurst.

With a compact footprint the top right corner has all the main connection points. We have a CPU fan as well as an optional fan which you could utilise for your AIO if you wished, whilst at the top right are the regular and addressable headers for your LED strips.
