Overclocking

Ok so the screenshot below we didn’t think we would see again after the Apex but the rampage pulled a blinder. It wasn’t bench stable but then again neither was the Apex. The Apex no matter what we did including dropping the memory speed wouldn’t remain stable above 4.5GHz. The Rampage however ended up almost completely stable at the same 1.225v the Apex used for 4.5 at a review first for us 4600MHz. Yep that’s right the first time we have seen 4.6 stable at 1.225. Blender did need a few more volts to pass at 1.25 but the crazy thing was the Rampage CPU temps were cooler even with the high clock and volts than any of the board running at 4.5. 

We could get 3600MHz ram running easy peasey but not with the 4.6 clock in tow so we dropped it to ‘just 3200MHz in favor of the extra CPU grunt… It was the right choice as you’ll see shortly!
