ASUS TUF X870-Plus WiFi Preview

Overview

The ASUS TUF packaging continues to strike its own design path. We’ll be saying this a bit in the coming words, but the boldness of the TUF branding is really what stands out to us. Often ASUS seem to hide away the TUF nature as if they’re trying to be clandestine. Suddenly now it’s writ large.

ASUS X870-Plus

Before we delve into the nitty-gritty we know that some of you like to get a look at the motherboard all in one shot. It makes it easier to get your head around the design. Plus when we’re zooming in you’ve already got a feel for the lay of the land so to speak.

X870-Plus Overview

It might not be the first thing you notice, but the neatness of the TUF X870 deserves mention. Not that long ago a TUF motherboard wouldn’t buy you much. Here we have a very tidy capacitor layout, as well as the easy GPU release button, and all on a TUF motherboard. Even the VRM heatsink has some bold branding. Very nice.

The bottom half is bold in its TUF branding. The Audio chip has the TUF logo.  the X870 chipset heatsink has it too. There is also one on the very edge below the SATA ports. Lastly the uppermost M.2 heatsink is TUF branded. And we didn’t even mention the on-PCB writing on the left. It’s not shy in telling passers by which brand you’ve brought.
