ASUS Z270 TUF Review

Up Close cont

Like most of the modern crop of motherboards the TUF sports a dedicated water pump header. No more delving into the BIOS to make sure that your pump isn’t on a PWM header and gets the full Volts at all times. The below the SATA ports there are four chassis fans. Perfect if you like a lot of intake airflow, and even better if you have a front mounted radiator. You can also see how ASUS have utilised the Armor itself to direct you towards the features hidden beneath as well as have a label for the onboard LEDs. We prefer a big arrow going “here is the USB 3.0 port” rather than peering intently at a 2pt font in the darkness of our cases. Once you lift the M.2 flap you can get a much better idea of how well designed the Z270 TUF is. ASUS haven’t bodged some parts-bin Armor into place as you might see with certain GPU coolers, but ensured that not a millimetre of space goes uncovered.

If you aren’t immediately turned off by the sand coloured plastics, and you shouldn’t be, then we think everyone will like the simple lines of the TUF.
