For a moment it looked like all was well. The memory not only happily ran at 4000 MHz – albeit one that actually read as 3866 MHz in CPUz – the scores scaled perfectly too. Which is why we didn’t notice at first that CPUz wasn’t reporting the same frequency as the BIOS.
