Intel Core i9-7980XE 18 Core HEDT CPU Review

CineBench R15 gives very similar results to Blender. The overclocked i9-7980XE is so far ahead that it is almost on another graph entirely, over a thousand points faster than the overclocked Threadripper. Or an overclocked i7-6700K more. Which neatly covers the extra cores available on the i9-7980XE.
