Intel 6950X 6900K 6850K CPU Review

Testing and Power Draw

With so many processors in our graphs we’ve changed our highlighting procedure slightly. Instead of Cyan for stock and Green for Overclocked, we’ve got the Core i7-6850K in Yellow, i7-6900K in Cyan and Green for the i7-6950X. Although it’s not giving too many spoilers away to say that, if you’re colour blind, the CPUs in today’s review will be the ones at the top of the graph. With the chance to modify our test options a little we’ve adjusted so that the stock results are run with the CPU at defaults and the DDR4 at 2800MHz, and the overclocked offering is, as it always has been here at OC3D, with everything as fast as it can go. POWAHHHH.

Despite having so many freaking cores crammed into a tiny bit of silicon, the Intel guru’s have kept the power requirements nice and low. For comparison the i7-6950X with two and a half times the cores of the i7-6700K only draws twice the power. Impressive efficiency.
