Lian Li LANCOOL 216 PC Case Review

Lian Li Lancool 216 PC Case Review

Conclusion

If there is one thing that has become clear when looking at Lian Li’s new LANCOON 216 chassis, it’s that there is plenty of room for innovation within today’s PC case market. Lian Li has once again proved that huge improvements can be made to the standard mid-tower case formula, and has delivered something seriously impressive with their latest enclosure.

Lian Li’s 216 chassis will cost between £109.99 and £114.99 in the UK, depending on your chosen colour scheme. Both models feature ARGB LEDs, and both models feature two front-mounted 160mm fans and a rear-mounted 140mm fan. This level of pricing places the LANCOOL 216 on the affordable end of the premium PC case spectrum, and for your money you will get ARGB lighting, high levels of airflow out of the box, and plenty of internal space for large components.

The LANCOOL 216 is a chassis that can scale with your PC ambitions, supporting large EATX motherboards (up to 280mm wide) without compromises, and large liquid cooling radiators without issues. The case’s unique fan mount design for their front 160mm fans are exceptionally clever, and a design trait that I expect other manufacturers to steal or be “inspired by” over the coming years.

What we have with the LANCOOl 216 is a case that has solid pricing, great airflow, excellent cable management options, and plenty or room for tweaking. Want a vertically mounted graphics card? This case can easily support that. Want more front mounted-USB ports or on-case ARGB lighting controls? There is a £14.99 add-on for that. Want more airflow around your PCIe cards? This case has a mount that can allow you to mount a 120mm fan down there.

Lian Li LANCOOL 216 PC Case Review

If you asked me to change anything within Lian Li’s LANCOOL 216, it would be to make its 3.5-inch drive mounts white for this case’s white model. Aside from that, there are no simple tweaks that can make this case much better than it already is. For as little as £110, this case supports features that many more premium cases lack, like its removable top fan/radiator mounts (which make motherboard and radiator/AIO installation a breeze), and an integrated fan hub (that makes cable management a doddle).

With its clean external aesthetic and its strong airflow, Lian Li’s LANCOOL 216 could be a strong home for any gaming system or high performance workstation while having a pricepoint that won’t break the bank. For its asking price of £109.99/£114.99, you cannot ask for anything better than Lian Li’s 216 chassis. In our eyes, this is easily one of the best PC cases of 2022. Lian Li has taught us to expect more from sub-£120 cases, to the cost of almost all other PC case manufacturers. Well done Lian Li, your LANCOOL 216 is deserving of the OC3D Value For Money award.
