MSI MPG Z890 Edge Ti Overview
Unlike a lot of the MSI packaging we’ve seen recently, the Edge has a lot of technology stickers. The LAN and WiFi 7 announcements at the top are echoed by identical concepts below. Between them and the silvery text on a silvery background makes this a design students nightmare. The huge ‘don’t eat the battery’ warning isn’t helping here either.
Fortunately if the front is a jumbled mess then the back is an exercise in simplicity. All the important elements are laid out clearly for all to see. Lovely. The absolute anthesis of the front.
As a middle model in the MSI Motherboard medley you get a decent selection of accessories in the box. It might not win any awards, nor have you finding room for something so cool you’d feel guilty leaving it in the box. On the other hand, you’re not left wanting for anything either.
Before we get into the nitty gritty of the details it’s always nice to look at an overview of the motherboard. The Edge Ti runs it at under £400, but you could be forgiven for thinking more when looking at the mirrored heatsink and large Dragon logo. We do still chuckle at the 8pin CPU power input being black on white PCBs and light grey on all the black ones.

When compared to some of the other MSI Motherboards we’ve recently looked at, you might just about glean why the Edge Ti hits the price point it does. When you’ve seen as many of these as we have the arrangement of connectors on the lower edge just slightly gives away its midrange price point. Not a negative at all, just a fact.
