AMD Radeon RX 9070 and 9070 XT Unboxing – XFX Mercury, Quick Silver and Sapphire Nitro+
XFX Radeon RX 9070 XT Mercury
XFX RX 9070 XT Mercury White unboxing
With the RX 9070 XT Mercury, XFX have continued their angular aesthetic. We have a GPU that looks like it was designed with a ruler, with sharp edges and simple geometric shapes. This GPU features replaceable magnetic fans, which makes the process of cleaning this graphics card a breeze. Great news for anyone who like to use their GPUs long-term.
What we have here is a clean and elegant GPU design. This GPU is easy on the eyes. It lacks the “business” of many competing designs, which runs counter to the standard “gamer” aesthetic.
Powering this GPU is three 8-pin PCIe power cables. XFX has opted to avoid the 16-pin power standards, trusting the reliable 8-pin standard. Most high wattage PSUs will feature at least three of these connectors, making this GPU an easy upgrade option for many PC builders. That said, routing three of these cables will pose some cable management challenges.
Inside a system, XFX’s Radeon RX 9070 XT Mercury looks marvelous. Its RGB elements are subtle, but effective. For those who want the all-white look, these LEDs can be disabled. That said, we like the look of this GPU’s lighting elements.
