AMD Radeon RX 9070 and 9070 XT Unboxing – XFX Mercury, Quick Silver and Sapphire Nitro+
XFX Radeon RX 9070 Quick Silver
XFX Radeon RX 9070 Quick Silver Unboxing
Let’s start with XFX’s Radeon RX 9070 Quick Silver. This graphics card is XFX’s baseline model, offering fewer features than the company’s more premium Mercury series models.
Overall, a lot of aspects of this GPU feel a little “Batman”, with angular elements and a dark aesthetic. This GPU is thick, allowing it to fill up large cases nicely. This GPU is more than three slots wide, making this GPU’s heatsink more than beefy enough to keep AMD’s RX 9070 silicon cool.
XFX’s RX 9070 Quick Silver is powered by two 8-pin PCIe power cables. This makes this GPU compatible with any power supply from the past decade (or more). This makes this GPU a great upgrade option for existing gaming PCs.
Note that part of this GPU’s heatsink shroud is magnetised, allowing it to be removed. Perhaps XFX will offer replacements for these to allow PC gamers to change their GPU’s aesthetic? Darn… no I want to spray paint these red to see what this GPU will look like…
backplate-wise, this GPU is pretty standard. We have open airflow for the GPU’s rear fan, and a clean overall aesthetic.
The rear of this GPU is very angular, which is why we said this GPU has a somewhat “Batman” aesthetic. This GPU would look great in a PC case with both front and side panel windows. Just a thought.
Inside a PC, this GPU looks marvelous. No RGB, no unnecessary add-ons. We just have a big, beautiful graphics card.
