That utilitarian ethos is somewhat reflected in the box art. No chrome effect text. No colourful backdrop. Product identifier. Picture. Job done.
As you can see the box art actually undersells the TUF. The fan surround design is familiar if you’ve seen their ROG Astral card, but naturally with an eye on a more affordable replication. Three eleven-bladed fans dominate proceedings and promise to deliver cool gaming.
Around the back the RTX 5070 TUF wears its Tough/TUF ideology loud and proud. Those indentations might be a trick of the light, but they speak about ASUS’ commitment to TUF. We like the inclusion of the TUF logo in the middle of the airflow cutout.
The side on views have large enough cut-outs that we get a good look at the heatsink which keeps the card cool during your marathon sessions. Anything bristling with this many heat pipes always grabs out attention. Like the backplate above you can see how the design is intended to back up the TUF ideals. Whilst entirely non-structural the shroud has a design which makes it look like diagonal webs beloved of architects.
Ins and Outs
Power is delivered by the ubiquitous Nvidia design. It’s worth noting that the ASUS RTX 5070 TUF OC is also compatible with the ASUS GPU Tweak III software which keeps an eye on the health of your power cable. Not that the RTX 5070 is expect to draw anything like the 600W limit of the cable.
Like all ASUS cards you can pick between a Quiet Mode and a Performance Mode. With a cooler of this quality you just stick it in P mode and move on with your life.
Although 1 HDMI and 3 DisplayPorts is the Nvidia standard there are some ASUS cards which offer up an extra HDMI and the RTX 5070 TUF OC is one.
