Corsair Xeneon Edge Review

Conclusion

We aren’t sure there is much to add we haven’t already covered. If the idea of a full colour, touchscreen, 2560×720 ultrawide display sounds like something you could make use of, then this is exactly what you want. You get the benefits of Corsair’s build quality, as well as the all-important iCUE software and it really is the software that takes this a step further than (very limited screens) Like the MSI Expander.

The Xeneon genuinely is perfect for all the things we’d need it for. It’s incredibly flexible. We’ve seen many small form-factor screens that were hugely limited in what they could display, or where you could place them. This Xeneon Edge solves all those by being perfectly shaped for in-case or on-desk activities. Simple connection solutions make it easy to tidy the cables away, and plenty of colour options ensure that it fits in with your desk theme. Should you be like us and love to keep close eyes on your temperatures and clocks, that element alone makes it a no-brainer.

Software is where something like this lives or dies. Just as a monitor is only as good as what you’re broadcasting, so this screen would be just an expensive paperweight if you couldn’t tune it to your exact requirements. Even in these early days there is a host of stuff built into the iCUE software by default. And, if that isn’t enough, the ubiquity of the Elgato Marketplace – thanks to the globe-conquering Stream Deck – has meant some very creative people have already filled it up under one roof. No digging in dark corners of the internet for apps. All widgets in one place. Easy to get, easy to configure, and perfect for expanding your productivity.

You already know if you want one. The flexibility is what absolutely sells it. In our case, quite literally. We are in the very fortunate position of not having to buy too much, so the fact we are willing to lay down the cash just to have the right colour speaks volumes about the quality of it, our white one will also stay in use on the white test rig going forward. Hence the Corsair Xeneon Edge easily wins out OC3D Enthusiast Award. Fantastic.
