FSR “Redstone” is here, and it’s the future of gaming
AMD FSR Frame Generation
FSR Frame Generation gets an ML-powered upgrade
With the release of AMD’s Radeon Software 25.12.1 driver, AMD’s new ML-enhanced version of Frame Generation is now available in games with FSR 3.1.4 (or newer) integrations. Starting today, RDNA 4 GPU users can enjoy AMD’s new ML version of FSR Frame Generation.
This new version of FSR Frame Generation improves image quality by reducing temporal artefacts and delivering greater detail in generated frames.
We reviewed F1 25’s PC version when the game launched, and we said at the time that the game’s FSR Frame Generation implementation had problems. Below we can see some of the issues we talked about. Shadows streaking from frame to frame, giving inaccurate results and a game that simply looked wrong in motion.
With AMD’s new AI-enhanced version of Frame Generation, these issues are now gone. Now we have sharp results that look like traditionally rendered frames. With FSR “Redstone”, generated frames look much better than before.
