F1 25 PC Performance Review and Optimisation Guide
FSR Testing
FSR – A solid upscaling option, but Frame Generation needs work
F1 25 supports AMD’s FSR 3 upscaler and currently lacks support for FSR 4. That said, we currently don’t have an RDNA 4 GPU available for testing, which means that we couldn’t test FSR 4 anyway, even if it was supported.
FSR delivers strong upscaling results in F1 25. However, DLSS delivers sharper results overall. FSR 4 support could change that, but it is not supported by this game. Regardless, FSR remains a great option for boosting framerates, especially at high resolutions.
FSR Frame Generation is available in F1 25, though I wouldn’t recommend it. With our Radeon RX 7900 XT, we noticed a lot of graphical artefacts. We saw F1 wheels trailing behind vehicles, and other oddities at the edge of our screen. These problems make FSR Frame Generation hard to recommend. Currently, it is unclear if these issues are a problem with FSR Frame Generation’s implementation in F1 25, or a downside of AMD’s current frame generation technique.
