Hands on with Panther Lake – Intel ARC B390 Gaming Tested!

Conclusion – Is Panther Lake a game-changer?

Intel’s B390 GPU is a solid graphics chip – Integrated graphics have come a long way

Our testing is far from exhaustive, but we got a feel for how Panther Lake’s GPU runs at CES 2026. Honestly, I didn’t know what to expect. Intel made some big promises. 77% gen-on-gen performance gains are huge. That said, can integrated graphics really get the job done with more challenging PC releases? The answer to that question is yes.

I’m shocked that a modern integrated graphics solution can run a game like Cyberpunk 2077 with ray tracing at a high framerate. Yes, this chip won’t match the performance of higher-end discrete laptop GPUs. That said, this is an integrated graphics solution. It’s not meant to compete with larger, more expensive solutions. If your goal is to game on the go, this chip will get the job done. Just be reasonable with your expectations.

As an avid Steam Deck enjoyer, I can see some clear perks with Intel’s ARC B390 graphics chip. For starters, XeSS delivers higher quality upscaling than AMD’s FSR 3. Furthermore, Intel’s B390 GPU delivers levels of raw graphics performance that my Steam Deck could only dream of. Add on XeSS Multi-Frame Generation, and we have an excellent gaming feature set.

A solid gaming expereince

With Panther Lake and B390, we have a lot of gaming potential. With the right graphical settings, even newer releases can run well on this hardware. If you want to run some older games and start clearing your back catalogue, this hardware should be more than capable of doing so with minimal tweaking.

So am I impressed with Panther Lake’s gaming performance? Yes. It has proven itself to be more than capable of running modern games. Even with limited testing, the results speak for themselves. Yes, you can game on this hardware and have a great experience.

Sadly, we do not know how much systems with Intel’s B390 graphics chip will cost. With this in mind, we cannot comment on the value for money Intel’s Core Ultra 388H CPU will provide. However, we can confirm that this chip has serious gaming potential. The future of Intel’s ARC graphics appears to be bright.
