MSI MPG 341CQPX QD-OLED Review
^^Introduction and Technical Specifications
Introduction
The MSI MPG 341CQPX QD-OLED monitor is beefy. 3440×1440 Ultrawide resolution with 240Hz refresh rate promises to make this a gaming behemoth, especially if you play first/third person shooting titles or racing games. It has inputs for all the display types. HDR 400 support. 10 Color bits. Wherever you look through the specifications, you come away impressed.
If you’ve been keeping up with our display reviews you’ll have seen our coverage of the 32″ 4K sibling to this particular panel, the MSI MPG 321URX. We loved that for all the same reasons we love most OLED panels. If, like us, you’re old enough to have owned CRT monitors then perhaps a good quality LED panel is still exciting. I’m old enough to have started in the days when green VDUs were the only option. Anyway, OLED is unquestionably a quantum leap forwards in quality.
Even the very best LED panels don’t come close to the deep blacks and rich colours available from a good OLED display. MSI certainly think so as they are expanding their range at great speed. There is even a double wide model if the 21:9 ratio of today’s product doesn’t quite fulfil your need for girth.
Response time is one of the cornerstones of the MPG 341CQPX QD-OLED display. It has a grey-to-grey response time of 0.03 ms, and with the ability to render up to 240 frames per second. Those factors could be just enough to give you the gaming edge. It should do that for a while too. MSI have a lot of technologies to help alleviate or even eliminate the burn-in worries we all have with desktops and OLED panels. Taskbar and logo detection automatically dim the display in those areas, whilst boundary detection does the same for any clear edges.
