MSI RTX 4080 Super Expert Review

The packaging for the MSI Expert only hints at what is to be revealed. Obviously there is a clear product image, but that doesn’t remotely tell the whole story.
Just look at it. In a world of triple fan coolers, the MSI Super Expert stands alone. Not just the fan design either, but the aluminium alloy shroud. It’s like it’s been moulded from a single billet. It’s stunning to look at and feels incredibly premium in the hand. The metal cover on the right is made from a cold-forge process, giving it a unique look and texture.
If you’ve seen as many graphics cards as we have the side on view always looks the same. There is a metal backplate, a plastic fan surround, and lots of heatpipes and fins on view. You get nothing like that here. The colour might not be for everyone, but the visual impact is undeniable.
It looks luxurious even sitting on the desk. The uniform nature of the design is what we find most impactful. A single fan, a lot of not much else. We have visions of an MSI technician hollowing out a solid aluminium billet. It’s stunning.
At the business end, and if only to stop us waxing lyrical, we have the standard Nvidia output choices. Three DisplayPorts and a single HDMI. You can also get a glimpse, the only one, of the fins inside.
Mount it vertically and you’re sure to get passers-by talking. It looks like nothing else on the market. What it lacks in RGB glitz, it makes up for in raw design impact.
