MSI RTX 5090 Suprim SOC Review

If you have seen a MSI Suprim before then the octagonal fan surround design will be very familiar. From the front you could confuse the RTX 5090 with a different Suprim. Just not from the side.
We like a minimalist design, and the MSI Suprim SOC has a very plain backplate. It’s nice. We think it is elegant.
It’s frankly hilarious how big this is. All the stories we heard about the RTX 5090 before it broke cover must have been based upon a glimpse of this. It’s massive.
If you need us we’ll be busy counting fins. Certainly if you like your hot air to be easily expelled from the card, the Suprim design has you covered.
As is the case with pretty much every graphics card these days the Suprim has three DisplayPort outputs and a single HDMI.
The airflow pass-through was invented by Nvidia and quickly spread to every card on the market. The MSI Suprim SOC is no exception. It does seem odd to block some of that airflow with a badge. But then we’re not designers.
Whilst it’s always tempting to get all the performance you can, with this much on tap it’s tempting to slide to Silent Mode. You’ll barely lose any performance but might gain a few degrees.
Just in case it isn’t clear how much of a chonky boy the Suprim is. Yes, that’s the RTX 5090 Nvidia FE on top. Madness.
