Palit RTX 5070 Ti GameRock OC Review
Conclusion
Conclusion
It’s very difficult to review a Palit card and not end up talking about the price. Given the MSRP of the RTX 5070 Ti cards is £729, the Palit RTX 5070 Ti GameRock OC only being £769 seems sensible. ***Edit – we couldnt find any etailer listing the card at that price though, it was normally £869 at the stores we checked. This does make the choices a little hard but we would still pick the palit over the MSI but we would also say that we wouldnt want to spend more than £769/£799 on any of the RTX 5070 Ti’s***
The only reason we can think is that people still haven’t cottoned on to how good these cards are. If a graphics card had the performance and cooling abilities of this card, but had a different name on it, perhaps one beginning with A, the price would surely begin with an 8 at least. We don’t know what more we have to do to get people to take notice. After all, our job is to review products, and if we can then we like to point those of you with budgetary restrictions towards the best bang for your buck. The Palit Game Rock cards always deliver in that department.
Just look at this one. It’s 1°C warmer than the MSI Vanguard, but draws 20W less power at the wall. Additionally the average clock speed is 40MHz higher. This generally showed up in our performance graphs. Admittedly there isn’t much to choose between this and the MSI – 40 MHz out of 2400 MHz is only 1.6% better – but the Palit tended to be consistently ahead. So it’s faster, requires less electricity and the temperature difference is negligible. What’s not to like?
Probably the design on the front of the cooler is what is stopping the GameRock from selling in the quantities it deserves. The GameRock cards have always been out there in the looks department. Flashy bordering on gaudy. The newest Blackwell equipped cards have toned down the flash significantly, but it’s still there. We think the biggest problem with the prism type cooler is that it affects colour enough to be problematic if you only like one colour. Whilst they should never be the primary factor, looks are, for whatever reason, a major part of why people gravitate towards a certain thing. Ensuring that you can’t have monochromatic system lighting feels like a bit of an own goal. However, if you have the GameRock in standard orientation rather than vertical, this ceases to be an issue.
With blazing performance, a very attractive price point and excellent cooling, the Palit RTX 5070 Ti GameRock OC easily wins our OC3D Gamers Choice Award.
