Closing thoughts
Our initial impression of this GPU is that it is colossal, coming in with a heatsink design that is almost overwhelmingly bulky and with a weight to it that we have not felt on a GPU for quite some time. This GPU is designed to keep Vega cool, so much so that they promise a “silent” fan profile while maintaining performance that is higher than AMD’s reference RX Vega 64.
Pricing-wise we have been told that this GPU will retail for £529.99 in the UK, which is a full £60 lower than what early pre-order listings have led us to believe. Even so, this price could still be subject to change, especially given the volatility of today’s market, though we cannot call this £529.99 price tag anything but reasonable.
The cheapest that an RX Vega 64 is available for in the UK at the minute is £458.99, which itself is a Black Friday sale price, with standard pricing typically sitting at £469.99 for reference RX Vega models, or higher if you want AMD’s premium Silver cooler design. Given the sheer size of this GPU’s cooler alone the increase in price seems justified, especially if it also ships with increased performance.
