Sapphire Nitro+ RX 9070 XT PhantomLink Review
Introduction and Technical Specifications
Introduction
Sapphire are launching two PhantomLink products today. In another review you’ll have seen the X870EA Nitro+ PhantomLink. That motherboard surprised us by only having a single concession to the BTF idea. If that gave you even a moments pause to the idea that Sapphire are being half-hearted, the RX 9070 XT Nitro+ PhantomLink should dispel those concerns.
By now you’ll all be familiar with the AMD RDNA 4 architecture. If not, the RX 9070 XT is the flagship model in the current Radeon range. Launched just a shade over a year ago, it boasts AMDs Infinity Cache, 64 Compute Units, 128 AI Accelerators, 64 Ray Accelerators and 4096 Shaders. A beefy card indeed. With the addition of the latest version of AMDs excellent FidelityFX Super Resolution, and the somewhat nascient Fluid Motion Frames, it can push some very high frame rates in the right titles.
What makes this particular card special is that it supports both Sapphires fantastic rear-mounted power connector, and the BTF power connector that gives the PhantomLink its name. As we’re already familiar with the Radeon capabilities, and we’ve seen the majority of the Nitro+ offerings, let’s get down to seeing this in the flesh and showing what makes it special.
