Tom Clancy's The Division PC Performance Review

1440p Testing with AMD R9 Fury X and Nvidia GTX 980Ti

When testing this game we decided to use the games built in benchmarking tool, as we found the benchmark’s average framerate performance to be very similar to that in game performance, though we also found the minimum framerates in the benchmark to be lower than what we experienced in gameplay.

We decided to use the games built in benchmark for several reasons, firstly because the built in benchmark is very consistent and secondly because it removed the affect of in game time of day and weather changes from affecting out results. Typically the game will have almost identical average framerate performance and higher minimum framerates in almost all scenarios.

With the R9 Fury X and GTX 980Ti it is actually pretty easy to maintain average framerates that are above 60FPS, which is something that is very surprising to see from a game that has such a high level of graphical fidelity.

At 1440p both the GTX 980Ti and R9 Fury X deliver almost identical level of performance in-game, making both GPUs equally viable options for playing the game.
