Looking at the units of the Empire in a grasslands type battlefield we can see that at a  distance that grass is not rendered at lower settings while at larger settings we can see grass much further away. Again we can see that units gain a lot more men and that the men gain a lot more variety, with different helmets, faces and most importantly mustaches.
