ASUS ROG Gladius II Gaming Mouse Review

ASUS ROG Gladius II Gaming Mouse Review

Introduction

The ASUS ROG Gladius took the gaming world by storm when it appeared back in 2014. The combination of an excellent sensor allied to ASUS build quality and the capability – new at the time – to easily switch out the parts to ensure that the mouse perfectly reflected your own preferences all added up to a fantastic mouse.

Today we have the sequel to this successful rodent in the form of the ROG Gladius II. It fixes the few niggles that we had with the original whilst also adding some extra customisation options to keep it as fresh and up to date as possible.

Without further ado, let’s see what the Gladius II brings to the party.

Specifications

It wasn’t that long ago that to achieve high DPIs, and the accuracy inherent to them, you had to go with a laser sensor. Thankfully some hard work by the incredibly talented sensor people has meant that we’re now seeing an awful lot of optical sensors that have the high DPI levels so beloved of the professional gamer. We know that some people can’t tell the difference between a laser or an optical, and some can, but rather than involve ourselves in that thorny issue it is just nice to be able to have a choice, without compromise.

Beyond the sensor we have two different cables, some swappable switches and the AURA lighting that is now standard on all ASUS products. Let’s take a look.
