ASUS ROG Pugio II Wireless Gaming Mouse Review

ASUS ROG Pugio II Wireless Gaming Mouse Review

Software

Our recent time with the Armoury II software has not been a pleasant experience. Between it taking a couple of loads to actually appear, always triggering Windows UAC, and in some instances – our motherboard and a couple of the other ROG peripherals we’ve reviewed this month – not working at all more often than not. Fortunately, for our sanity at least, it worked every time with the Pugio II, and flawlessly. Every thing is where you would expect to find it and clearly labelled. We’d like being able to see the colour before we committed to it, but you have to hit save every time before any changes are applied. The method of applying the colour is also opaque, with the brightness slider adjusting how much white is in the colour rather than how bright the LEDs are, and if you move it to see what it does it can be a faff to get things back to how they are supposed to be. It’s still very much the weak link in the ASUS, ahem, armoury.
