be quiet! Light Mount TKL Review

Software

If you get sick of downloading and installing software, or just having it in the background for no reason, then you’ll enjoy this. The be quiet! io center software is available either as a download package, or just a browser based option. Obviously you get a little extra with the software, but if you just want to make all the keys a certain colour and move on, the web version ticks that box.

Lighting has all the tricks you’re used to. Multiple built in presets, as well as a new to the Light Mount TKL ripple. You can customise the light bar with a couple of clicks, and it supports multiple colours as you can see from our final photo. There is a trick up the software’s sleeve though. A spectacular, game-changing trick. You can customise the colour. No, not “make the keys red”. But change what the keyboard shows you for each colour. That way you can match up to other RGB devices you have, so one yellow is all yellows. Yes. We said it was great.

Obviously any keyboard of its worth has macros and remapping, and the Light Mount TKL is no different. We do like that be quiet! provide us with so many built in options. Anything that gets us up and running quickly is a positive. Additionally there is a Fn layer. Press the Fn key and and combinations which are valid will be highlighted in the lighting. You can set them all up, so even with the limited keys on a TKL model, you’ll still not run out of places to put shortcuts.

Additionally we like that a single key combination can put you in game mode, and you can customise what gets locked off. Tired of hitting the Windows key, sure, but tired of hitting Caps Lock? The Light Mount TKL has you covered. There is a trick up the software’s sleeve. A spectacular, game-changing trick. You can calibrate the colours. No, not “make the keys red”. But change what the keyboard shows you for each colour. That way you can match up to other RGB devices you have, so one yellow is all yellows. Yes. We said it was great.

Lighting

Beneath each key are two diffusers which help spread the lighting. Not only do the keys themselves glow, but you get backlighting too. Additionally, the light bar is fully ARGB, bringing you near limitless possibilities.
