Corsair K70 RGB Rapidfire Mk2 Review
Software
The Corsair CUE software has always been extremely powerful, albeit not the simplest to use if you want to utilise complicated lighting. It’s flawless for “I just want it all to be purple” functions and doesn’t require much learning. The latest version is now the iCUE which controls all the Corsair RGB hardware in your system. My system is old enough to not have any Corsair RGB internals so I cannot demonstrate it here, but their website shows the possibilities. It’s very much a one-click solution for your lighting needs and can make your system replicate the keyboards fancy effects easily.
The macro capabilities are amongst the most powerful on the market. It can record almost everything you do, including mouse movements. If you have even the slightest tasks that you have to perform on a regular basis and in a consistent manner, this can save you no end of time.
We’re especially keen on the ability to adjust the profile, lock and lighting buttons to your own preferences too. So often you’re stuck with whatever colour the manufacturer chooses. Surely it’s only a matter of time before somebody takes this idea to the lock indicator lights and finally frees us entirely from bright white LEDs on our keyboards.
