Although you can utilise the MSI Mystic Light software to customise the keyboard to your exact specifications MSI have also provided a plentiful array of Fn+x options to let you adjust the lighting and repeat speeds to your preference.

  

At the other corner we have media keys as well as volume control ones. On the Home cluster is found a selection which tie directly into the MSI suite so, should you be particularly brand loyal and own other MSI hardware, you can shortcut your way to overclocking or power saving as necessary.

  

Beneath the metal keycaps that are equipped by default we find our favourite switch, the CherryMX Red with clear RGB surround. The Reds have a 45g actuation pressure – the lightest amongst the CherryMX range – and neither a tactile bump like the Brown or an audible one like the blue. They are as quiet and fast as you can get without going for the rarer and pricier specific quiet or speed models.

  

With the included keypuller it’s a quick job to change the keycaps should you so desire. The heavily textured ones are really grippy, perfect for keeping your fingers in place during intense battles.
