The Roccat Swarm software is well laid out and everything is where you would hope to find it. Installation is a bit of a chore as even grabbing the latest version off their website you still end up having to download an update the moment you’ve finally installed it, and then install the sub-package that handles the Vulcan keyboard itself. There must be an easier way to get up and running.

However, once you do then it is very easy to use, with only a small lag between making a change and it appearing on the keyboard, if you’ve got auto-apply turned on. There are plenty of presets to handle the majority of your needs, whilst also having a fair bit of expert mode features for those of you who demand absolute control over every tiny thing. It’s not the greatest controlling software we’ve used but it’s by no means the worst either. It’s a small refinement from greatness.
