Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB DDR5 5600MHz White Preview
Up Close
The white Dominator Platinum RGB makes a bold statement in the familiar octagonal Corsair box and with a very bold image on the front. Less is more with packaging and Corsair are showing how strongly they also believe in that here.
Within that outer shell we have the twin stick kit itself in all its glory. Sometimes you hear of something and it doesn’t sound like it’s going to be that good, and then you see it and it is awesome. This is very much one of those times. White and gold could be considered the height of nouveau riche gaudiness, and then you see how tastefully it has been executed. Gorgeous.
We love the subtle text and even the gold-plated screws add an ounce of class to proceedings. If you’ve got a system capable of showing it off at its best then you’ll be very pleased with the results.
At the top are the RGB LEDs that allow the Dominator Platinum to not only be labelled RGB but also form part of the Corsair Capellix range.
Gaze on my works ye mighty and despair.
Although it does support full RGB, with a white ASUS Maximus Formula as the basis it really shines when you run the LEDs in white. So bright it’s almost dazzling. If it was any whiter it would form the basis of a laundry detergent commercial.
We’ll be back with a full review once we’re suitably full of mince pies, in the meantime have a great festive season and discuss the new White Dominator in our OC3D Forums.
