Fractal Refine Mesh Chair Review
Introduction and Technical Specifications
Introduction
Comfort. It’s one of those things in life you just can’t put a price on. One of the reasons consoles became so popular was the benefits of a sofa on your bum. Particularly back in the days when a PC chair was perhaps a repurposed dining chair, or something very cheap. It can’t have escaped your notice that these days you’ve umpteen options. One company throwing their hat into the ring is Fractal. We have seen a few products from this growing brand, and the Refine chair is the latest in their growing catalogue. If you like cases you’ll certainly have come across their name. We reviewed their excellent “North XL” case here.
The Fractal Refine is available in 5 different versions. Dark and Light Fabric, Dark and Light Mesh and Alcantara. We’ve got the Light Mesh model in the office today. It looks like the bare minimum a chair can be and yet still count as one. As you’ll see though, it’s surprisingly comfortable and robust. Especially good if you’re the type of person who overheats easily. But we’re getting ahead of ourselves.
There is a huge table of specifications below. We think the things that are worth paying especially close attention to is the weight limit and warranty. Weight limits are always important. Anyone who has seen the results of a poor gas lift will know the importance of the right Gas Piston Class. With a Class 4 supporting up to 125KG even chunksters should be fine. Secondly, the warranty is excellent. 3 years for the fabric and materials, and 5 years for the engineering. More than enough for sensible usage, and plenty to salve the sting of that premium price point.
