A virtual tour around Silverstone

There is no better way to learn a track than to drive on it, and at #ROGApex, ASUS worked with Vesaro to have a collection of top-tier racing sim setups in attendance. These racing sims featured a three-monitor display setup with three ROG Swift OLED PG48UQ screens, a full racing cockpit with motion feedback, and a pre-prepared race at Silverstone using Project Cars 2.

With three 48-inch screens and very small bezel sizes, ASUS’ triple ROG Swift OLED PG48UQ monitor setup was impressive. Like all OLED screens, the blacks on these displays were deep and their colours were vibrant. When combined with Vesaro’s racing gear, ASUS has really showcased how far eRacing has come in recent years. 

I’ll be honest, I don’t know what half of these buttons do. That said, in the hands of a tame racing driver, these controls can deliver some incredible results. Beyond that, it looks like Vesaro’s racing sim setups have the option to add some streaming items, combining the worlds of gaming streaming and eRacing. 

At #RPGApex, we heard that ASUS/ROG will be working with Vesaro to create some dedicated eRacing spaces in the near future. That said, this event was about ASUS and their latest #ROGOLEDMonitor products, not their work with Vesaro. Even so, eRacing fans may soon see ASUS’ ROG OLED monitors at eRacing venues in the future, giving gamers a place to see these screens in action.

Below you can see the pistons that power the Vesaro’s motion feedback systems, tilting and turning the user while they drive across virtual race tracks. These pistons moved a lot while the Vesario system was in use, giving users a close-to-real racing experience.

ASUS has confirmed that they will be working with Vesaro to create a new gaming/racing leisure space in London, which is due to open in Q4 2022. This location will be one of potentially 30 worldwide virtual racing venues, with their One New Change location in London featuring over 120 ROG monitors. Assuming that each sim setup as three screens each, that will give the venue 40 fully kitted out racing rigs.
