The TX3 Core 360 is a solid chair for gaming and office use

The TX3 Core 360 is a comfortable chair with plenty of adjustment options. It’s solidly built, and I’d have to get very nitpicky to find any real faults with this chair. That said, this is a review, and nitpicking is part of the job description. So let’s get a few nitpicks out of the way.

First, this is a matter of personal preference. I know Tom Logan, OC3D’s beloved Lord and Master (owner/operator), has a racer’s spirit and is a “car guy” to his core. Like a devil on my shoulder, he tells me he dislikes the Core 360’s wide, flat base. His preference? Racing-style chairs with taller, sloped sides that centre users and hug their thighs. For me, that’s not an issue. The seat is comfortable and well suited for users who want to spread their legs, have a wider frame or have wider thighs. Ultimately, this is a matter of personal preference. Just something to be aware of.

Our other nitpick is that we would have liked to see a little more height adjustment on the Core 360’s armrests. Specifically, we would like them to be lowered a little further. For users who want to tuck their chairs as far under their desks as possible when not in use, this extra adjustment would be welcome. Again, this is not an issue for many people. Once again, it’s a matter of preference, not a real negative.

Greater adjustability than the TX3 Core Smart

While the new Core 360 should cost a little more than the TX3 Core Smart, it offers many more adjustment options. Its new sliding lumbar support should make it more comfortable, and its other adjustable elements should allow users to further refine their seating experience. For a small add-on cost, that is a good thing.

For this review, we have the Loft Light Grey version of the TX3 Core 360, and it is our preferred option. While the Leatherette material on the Racer and Modern variants is nice, the breathable fabric on the Loft versions will be better in the summer. Nobody likes peeling themselves off PU leather chairs during heatwaves… That said, fabric chairs are harder to wipe clean. Again, personal preference matters a lot when it comes to chairs.

So, do I like the TX3 Core 360? Yes, it’s a comfy chair that delivers strong lumbar support without a tedious adjustment mechanism. It also offers plenty of useful customisation options and has a subtle, almost minimalist look that I find very appealing. That said, if you want something shoutier, the Racer variant is available.

This is a solid gaming/office chair. Certainly one that is worth considering.
