Enermax REVOLUTION D.F. X 1200W Power Supply Review

Up Close with the Enermax REVOLUTION D.F. X 1200W

A closer look at the Enermax Revolution DFX 1200W

When we see a product with “Revolution” in the name, we expect to see something out of the ordinary. In the case of Enermax’s Revolution DFX 1200W PSU, we see something that is pretty ordinary. What we have here is a standard ATX power supply that meets all of the latest PSU certifications and delivers 80+ Gold levels of efficiency. While this is more efficient and can deliver more watts than an ordinary PC power supply, it isn’t exactly what we would call revolutionary.

PSU Jumper

One nice thing that Enermax ships with their Revolution DFX series PSUs is a PSU jumper. This add-on can be connected to your PSU’s 24-pin motherboard connector and be used to jump start the power supply. This is a useful add-on for watercooling enthusiasts, who often need to jump their PSUs when filling, or testing, a new liquid cooling loop.

Users of Enermax’s included jumper can even flick open its top and see which pins have been bridged.

For those who do not want to use the Revolution DFX’s RGB LEDs, Enermax has included an RGB sticker that can be placed over this PSU’s RGB illuminated logo. Again, this is a nice option for user, but not something revolutionary.

As mentioned before, this power supply has an RGB illuminated logo in its side. This RGB lighting can be controlled using the 3-pin ARGB power connector below. Just hook this into your motherboard and RGB controller and you can control this PSU’s lighting using your preferred RGB software.

Below we can see Enermax’s Revolution RGB illuminated DFX logo. If you aren’t a fan of RGB lighting, you can turn it off with a simple button click. This button is at the back of the PSU close to its on/off switch.

Included Cables

Out of the box, Enermax’s Revolution DFX power supply ships with a lot of cables. All of these PSU cables are flat black ribbon cables.

Enermax delivers all of the PSU cables for their Revolution DFX series units in the bag below. This gives users a great place to store their spare cables, ready for when users next plans to upgrade their PCs.
