Enermax REVOLUTION D.F. X 1200W Power Supply Review

Conclusion – A solid PSU option with added RGB

A solid PSU from Enermax, but it isn’t a revolution

Let’s face it. The Enermax Revolution D.F X 1200W is not a “revolutionary” power supply. As far as new power supplies go, I’d say that this unit is pretty normal. With its 1200W power delivery capacity and its 80+ Gold efficiency rating, this PSU is certainly more powerful and efficient than run of the mill PSU designs. Does that make this PSU revolutionary? I don’t think so.

The Revolution D.F X 1200W from Enermax is not revolutionary, but that doesn’t mean that we don’t like this power supply. There are certainly a few features that show that Enermax has clearly though about end users. With this PSU we have two 12VHPWR connectors for those that need them, and a PSU jumper for liquid cooling enthusiasts. Those are some nice features, and RGB lovers will be happy to see full ARGB support on this unit.

Getting the fundamentals right

With their newest 1200W power supply, Enermax has gotten all of the fundamentals right. This PSU is efficient, quiet, and gives users plenty of cable options. No matter how old or new your PC is, this PSU will meet your needs. Lots of PSU manufacturers don’t offer users users many Molex connectors or simply don’t offer users a 4-pin floppy connector. Yes, these connectors aren’t commonly used in the era of 12VHPWR, but they are useful for those of us who still use some older add-on cards and accessories. If your PC is a glorious mix of modern and retro, Enermax has you covered.

Speaking of having strong fundamentals, Enermax are clearly confident in the longevity of their new Revolution DFX 1200W power supply. By offering a 10–year warranty, Enermax has clearly shown that they are are confident that their newest PSUs will have a long lifespan.

Enermax’s new Revolution DFX 1200W power supply has not wowed us. That said, it is a solid power supply that deserves our seal of approval. It is not the revolutionary PSU that we wanted, but it will be a solid core for any PC you build with it.
